Our designer has set this silver mermaid pendant with a faceted rainbow moonstone accent to evoke a feeling of vision, inspiration, and spirituality. Rainbow moonstone is closely associated with the spiritual realms, and in this pendant the stone can be seen as a kind of mirror, the mermaid’s offering of inner wisdom and clarity.

The skin and hair details in this mermaid tail necklace are hand carved from fossilized mammoth ivory, which is some 10,000 to over 15,000 years old. The mammoth tusk has lain in permafrost or the earth for millennia, gradually accreting its antique cream hue. It is an excellent choice for the mermaid’s pearlescent qualities, adding a touch of antiquity to this heirloom piece. The mermaid’s hair is also carved from the same ancient mammoth ivory and inked to give it additional color.
