A Note Regarding International Fossilized Ivory Shipments
All of our jewelry shipped internationally outside of the US is made using ancient mammoth tusk ivory.
We are in full compliance with all rules and regulations governing the use of ancient fossilized walrus tusk. However, we do not ship jewelry containing fossilized walrus ivory outside of the US due to the expense and time involved in obtaining the necessary permits. Fossilized walrus tusk is regulated by CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species), an international treaty to protect endangered species. Under CITES there must be an inspection and permits obtained both outgoing from the United States and also upon entering the destination country to certify the material is ancient. Consequently, it is currently not cost effective for Zealandia to ship ancient walrus tusk to our international customers.
