Handmade Unique Silver Jewelry Silver Blue Topaz Earrings - Spray
Gift yourself the beauty of ancient seas with this distinctive starfish necklace that marries wondrous materials and sparkling semi-precious stones into a unique piece of jewelry. Each portion of this design was carefully considered from the Moroccan ammonite center to the use of fossilized walrus ivory to represent the starfish.
Moroccan ammonite sizes vary according to the size of the ammonite, a now-extinct marine invertebrate. Little is known about Moroccan ammonites except that they thrived in the early Jurassic period (around 200 million years ago) and became extinct about the same time as the dinosaurs. Today, these fossilized ammonites offer us gorgeous Fibonacci-like patterns in an array that makes them ideal for jewelry setting and fine art works.
Though the fossilized walrus tusk in this piece isn't quite as old (500 to 3,000 years), it is an ideal material beside the Moroccan ammonite for its cool, creamy radiance. Natives gather this fossilized ivory after erosion or the tides unearths it, and it is prized the world over for its quality. Fossilized walrus tusk ivory is used here to represent the starfish.
Our designers finished this starfish necklace in silver and semi-precious stones, which juxtapose beautifully against the ancient materials. Blue topaz and fresh green peridot echo the sea's many moods, creating a classic piece of Zealandia starfish jewelry that is sure to become a family heirloom.
