Fossilized Mammoth Ivory Earrings with Blue Topaz
Our enigmatic fossilized mammoth ivory earrings are called microcosm for their resemblance to a slice of something much larger. Designer Jessica Lins must have had the cosmos on her mind when she created this beautiful pair. A central fossilized ivory “sun” orbited by smaller sterling silver “planets” and one particularly striking satellite set in blue topaz create a universe all their own.
The earrings' focal points in fossilized mammoth tusk are over 15,000 years old. The tusk has lain buried for most of its long life where it gathers a range of pale white to creamy hues based on the minerals nearby. Mammoth tusk is carved the world over into jewelry, sculpture, and other collectibles. It brings that touch of an ancient era to fine art pieces.
