Cat with String Pendant in Silver and Labradorite
The cat's playful and curious personality is a big part of what makes these animals so loveable. They are the hunter domesticated, retaining much of the species' intense desire to interact with the world at large. Cats remind us of the role of play in our own lives and the importance of remaining open to the moment's delight and opportunities.
Our designers sought to capture the cat in a classic moment as he bats at a ball of string, represented by a glowing labradorite stone. Labradorite is considered a magical stone that helps attune you to your inner intuition and mystical self. Here, the labradorite's blue and green tones offer a gorgeous counterpoint to the fossilized ivory cat's earthy hue.
The playful cat is hand carved from fossilized mammoth ivory, a prized material that is approximately 15,000 years old. Mammoth ivory lies in permafrost or underground for millennia, accreting its earthen tones. It is a vivid reminder of eras past, and it makes a fine addition to jewelry and artisan crafts.
