Our Terra fossilized walrus ivory earrings capture a touch of the earth's beauty with their natural, ancient materials and gleaming sterling silver setting. Our designers chose the teardrop shape for this pair, echoed in the teardrop cut sections of fossilized ivory.
These fossilized walrus ivory selections are between 500 and 3,000 years old. The earth herself is responsible for their rich coloring, staining the ivory a range of variegated caramel to deep cocoa shades as the material lies buried for centuries. It is an important cultural and economic resource for the Native Alaskans who gather it for carving, sale, and trade.
