Dragonfly Jewelry - Ancient Ivory and Amethyst Pendant

Our collectible dragonfly, made of fossilized mammoth and paua, is set in sterling silver with 14 kt gold accents. This symmetrical pendant is accented with a radiant amethyst stone that glistens an alluring lavender color often seen on dragonflies.
The beads that make up the dragonflies body are hand carved from fossilized mammoth ivory. Mammoth ivory is some 15,000 years plus old, and it comes to us from the tusk of the mammoth, which has been lying in the earth or permafrost for millennia. This touch of ancient history reminds us just how fragile life on our earth is, and it takes us back to a time when these wondrous beasts still roamed.
